What our AI features actually do, which outside providers see your photos, and how to stay out of it if you'd rather.

This policy covers how Partyyy.Party uses artificial intelligence, and works alongside our Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, and GDPR policy. It doesn't cover AI tools we might use to write our own marketing copy or run our own business — only AI that touches your data or a guest's.
Every AI feature is opt-in at the point it's used — nothing runs on your photo or your words unless you (or your host, with a feature switched on) actively trigger it.
We currently use Google's Gemini API, xAI's Grok API and Anthropic's Claude API. Image generation runs on Gemini and Grok; the chat and text features may run on any of the three, and a request may be tried on more than one if the first is unavailable. We may add, remove, or change AI providers over time; if we do, we'll update this page. We aren't affiliated with, and this isn't endorsed by, Google, xAI or Anthropic.
For a photo render: the photo itself, and a short text prompt describing the artistic scene, are sent to the AI provider's API and a generated image is returned to us to store. We don't send a guest's name, contact details, or any other personal data alongside the image — only what's visible in the photo and the scene description.
For a chat: the guest's question, the conversation so far on that page, and a block of facts about the event are sent to the provider so the answer can be about the actual party. That block is limited to what the guest could already see for themselves on their own pages — the event details, the host's own info pages, the party jobs, the names and counts of who has RSVPed, and that guest's own RSVP. It deliberately excludes sign-in links, phone numbers and email addresses, anonymous confessions, and any info page the host has scheduled to unlock later. We don't send other guests' contact details or their private answers.
For the theme studio: the host's own description of their party and the event's basic details (its name, and whether it has a date, venue and so on) are sent, so the suggested copy makes sense for that party. No guest data is sent.
Each provider's own privacy terms govern how they handle data submitted through their APIs. At the time of writing, all three state that data submitted through their paid API products isn't used to train their general-purpose models — but their terms can change, and we'd encourage you to check them directly if that matters to you.
Whoever uploads a photo — a host or a guest — is responsible for having a reasonable basis to believe the person in it would be comfortable with an AI-edited version being generated and shown to other guests. Don't upload a photo of someone else for AI rendering without their consent, and don't use the feature to generate sexual, degrading, or otherwise abusive content of a real person — that breaches our acceptable use terms and we'll remove the content and may suspend the Account.
AI renders are generated content for entertainment — they don't feed into, and have no effect on, a guest's RSVP status, karma, badges, or anything else that matters about them on the Service. No AI feature here makes an automated decision about a person with legal or similarly significant effect.
Generative AI is unpredictable by nature. A render might come out differently to what you expected, might not resemble the person very closely, or the provider might refuse the request outright — the same photo and prompt can succeed one time and be refused the next. Treat every AI render as a playful, artistic reinterpretation, not an accurate or guaranteed likeness, and not an official record of anyone or anything.
AI-generated images are stored the same way as any other photo in the Service, for as long as the host's Account and event remain active. A host can delete a render from their photo album at any time; a guest pictured in one can ask their host, or ask us directly at [email protected], to have it removed. AI renders also count against a monthly quota per Account, used to manage the cost of the underlying AI services.
The simplest way to opt out is not to upload a photo for rendering, and not to open the chat — nothing about attending or RSVPing to an event depends on either. Chat transcripts live in the page you're reading and aren't kept once you leave it. If a render already exists and you'd like it removed, ask your host or email [email protected] and we'll take it down.
We may update this policy as our AI features or providers change. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
